Terms & Conditions

The terms that govern quotations, payments, installation, warranty, and support when you work with Astral Solar and Engineering.

General Terms

These terms govern site surveys, quotations, and solar EPC (engineering, procurement & construction) services provided by Astral Solar and Engineering.

1

Agreement to Terms

By requesting a quotation, booking a site survey, or engaging Astral Solar & Engineering ("Astral", "we", "us", or "our") for any solar installation, maintenance, or related service, you ("the customer") agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions, our Privacy Policy, and any project-specific proposal or work order issued to you. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not proceed with our services.

2

Definitions

  • "Services" means site assessment, system design, supply, installation, commissioning, and after-sales support for solar PV systems, batteries, inverters, solar pumps, and related equipment.
  • "Proposal" means the written quotation, system design, and pricing document shared with the customer following a site survey.
  • "AMC" means the Annual Maintenance Contract offered separately for ongoing servicing after installation.
3

Scope of Services

Astral provides residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural solar solutions, including on-grid, off-grid, and hybrid systems, solar water heaters, solar pumps, and lighting. The exact scope, capacity, equipment brands, and deliverables for your project are set out in the Proposal and are binding only once both parties confirm the order in writing (email or signed acceptance).

Site surveys are conducted to assess roof/ground suitability, structural load, shading, and electrical load. Final system design may vary from an initial estimate based on findings during the survey.

4

Quotations, Pricing & Taxes

Quotations are valid for 15 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated, after which pricing may be revised due to changes in component costs, government subsidy availability, or site conditions. All prices are quoted in Indian Rupees (INR) and are exclusive of applicable GST unless explicitly stated as inclusive.

Any government subsidy, capital incentive, or net-metering benefit referenced in a proposal is an estimate based on schemes available at the time of quotation and is subject to approval by the relevant DISCOM or government authority — see our subsidy disclaimer below for details.

5

Payment Terms

  • An advance booking amount is payable to confirm the order and schedule the installation.
  • A milestone payment is typically due on material delivery to site.
  • The balance amount is payable on completion of installation and prior to grid synchronization or handover, unless a different schedule is agreed in writing.
  • Delayed payments may result in a corresponding delay to the installation schedule.
6

Customer Obligations

The customer is responsible for providing accurate site access, roof/land ownership confirmation, load details, and any documentation required for subsidy or net-metering applications. Delays caused by incomplete documentation, restricted site access, or third-party approvals (such as DISCOM inspection) are outside Astral's control and may affect the project timeline.

7

Intellectual Property

All designs, drawings, energy assessment reports, and proposal documents prepared by Astral remain our intellectual property and are shared with the customer solely for evaluating and executing the proposed project. They may not be reproduced or shared with a third party without our written consent.

8

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services or applicable law. The revised terms take effect from the date posted on this page, and continued use of our Services after that date constitutes acceptance of the changes.

Project & Service Policies

How we handle timelines, government subsidy schemes, cancellations, warranty, and ongoing maintenance.

1

Project Timelines & Delays

Estimated installation timelines are shared in the Proposal and begin once the advance payment is received and site access is confirmed. Timelines may be affected by weather, material availability, DISCOM inspection schedules, or documentation delays on the customer's side. We will communicate any material delay as soon as it becomes known.

2

Government Subsidy & Net-Metering Disclaimer

Where a Proposal references a central or state subsidy (such as the PM Surya Ghar scheme) or net-metering benefit, this is provided as an estimate based on schemes and rates published by the relevant authority at the time of quotation. Subsidy disbursement, approval timelines, and eligibility are determined solely by the government body or DISCOM concerned and are outside Astral's control. We assist with documentation and applications but do not guarantee approval amounts or disbursement dates.

3

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Orders cancelled before material procurement are eligible for a refund of the advance amount, less any survey or design costs already incurred.
  • Once components are procured or dispatched to site, cancellation charges equal to the cost of ordered materials will apply.
  • No refund is available once installation has commenced, except for amounts not yet due under the payment schedule.
  • Approved refunds are processed within 15–30 business days to the original payment source.
4

Warranty Policy

Solar panels, inverters, batteries, and structural components carry the respective manufacturer warranties disclosed in your Proposal (commonly up to 25 years of performance warranty on panels and 5–10 years on inverters/workmanship, depending on brand and product). Astral additionally provides a workmanship warranty covering installation defects for the period stated in your Proposal. Warranty claims must be raised through Astral and are subject to the manufacturer's terms, including proper use, maintenance, and avoidance of unauthorized modification.

5

Force Majeure

Astral is not liable for delay or failure to perform obligations caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, extreme weather, strikes, government restrictions, grid outages, supply chain disruption, or other force majeure events. Affected obligations resume once the event concludes, and timelines are adjusted accordingly.

6

AMC & Maintenance Policy

Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC) are offered separately from installation and cover periodic cleaning, performance checks, and minor servicing as described in the applicable AMC plan. AMC does not cover damage from misuse, unauthorized third-party repairs, theft, or acts of God unless specifically included in your plan. Customers without an active AMC can still request paid service visits by contacting our support team.

Liability & Legal

Limits on liability, dispute resolution, governing law, and how to reach us with legal queries.

1

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Astral's total liability arising from any project or Service is limited to the amount paid by the customer for that Service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of electricity savings, business interruption, or third-party claims, except where caused by our proven gross negligence or willful default.

2

Indemnification

The customer agrees to indemnify Astral against claims, damages, or costs arising from inaccurate site or load information provided by the customer, unauthorized modification of the installed system, or use of the system in a manner inconsistent with manufacturer guidelines and applicable safety codes.

3

Third-Party Products & Manufacturer Warranties

Solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other branded components are manufactured by third parties. Manufacturer warranty terms, exclusions, and claim procedures govern those components, and Astral's role is limited to facilitating the warranty claim on the customer's behalf where applicable.

4

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the dispute resolution process below, the courts at Ranchi, Jharkhand shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from these terms or any Service provided by Astral.

5

Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to first attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation by contacting our support team. If unresolved within 30 days, either party may refer the dispute to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, with a sole arbitrator appointed by mutual agreement, seated in Ranchi, Jharkhand.

6

Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. These Terms, together with your accepted Proposal, constitute the entire agreement between you and Astral regarding the Services, superseding any prior discussions or understandings on the same subject.
