Privacy Policy

What we collect during your solar journey, how it's used, and the choices you have over your data.

Effective Date: August 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Astral Solar & Engineering collects during site surveys, quotations, and installations, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have — in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

How We Handle Your Data

What we collect while quoting and installing your solar system, how it's used, and your rights over it.

1

Information We Collect

  • Contact details — name, phone number, email address, and property address submitted through our quote, contact, or callback forms.
  • Site & technical data — roof/land measurements, electricity bills or consumption data, sanctioned load, and photos captured during a site survey, used to design your system.
  • Payment information — transaction references for advance and milestone payments, processed through our payment partners; we do not store full card or bank details.
  • Usage data — pages visited, device/browser type, and approximate location, collected automatically when you use solarastral.com (see our Cookie Policy).
2

How We Use Your Information

  • To prepare site assessments, system designs, and quotations.
  • To schedule installation, service, and AMC visits.
  • To process payments and issue invoices.
  • To apply for government subsidy or net-metering approvals on your behalf, where requested.
  • To send project updates, service reminders, and — where you've consented — offers on new products or services.
3

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where necessary to deliver our Services, including with:

  • Installation crews and empanelled subcontractors working on your project.
  • DISCOMs and government bodies, for net-metering and subsidy applications you've authorized.
  • Equipment manufacturers, when registering or processing a warranty claim.
  • Payment gateways and IT service providers who support our operations under confidentiality obligations.
4

Data Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards — including access controls and encrypted transmission for forms and payments — to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss. No online system is completely secure, and we encourage you to notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account or data.

5

Data Retention

We retain project records (proposals, invoices, warranty documentation) for as long as needed to support your system's warranty period and to meet tax and regulatory record-keeping requirements. Enquiry data from customers who do not proceed with a project is retained for a limited period for follow-up, after which it is deleted or anonymized.

6

Your Rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, and to withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below — we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7

Our Services are intended for property owners and businesses and are not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

Our website may link to third-party sites (such as social media or payment gateways). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourage you to review their policies separately.

Cookie Policy

How solarastral.com uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them.

1

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, understand how visitors use it, and improve performance over time.

3

Managing Cookie Preferences

Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect core functionality such as form submission or the solar calculator. Disabling analytics or marketing cookies does not affect your ability to browse the site or request a quote.

4

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. As there is no universal standard for interpreting this signal yet, our site does not currently respond to it differently, though we continue to honor the cookie preferences you set directly in your browser.
